Tumi tiger is bringing hope and smiles to hundreds of children in South Africa and Ukraine along with quite a few adults! We do not have enough tigers to meet the demand as so many children are suffering from trauma.
Correspondence from a Pastor serving on the Ukraine border:
I would like to have one English speaking tiger here for a very good friend of mine, who is so excited about the Tumi project because she herself is traumatized very heavily and is still in a healing process with Jesus.
Pastor Roman regularly visits villages around Nisyn with a team, preaches the Gospel and brings Tumi tigers, audio-Bibles and food packages.
He writes: "My best Christmas gift last year was that our Tumis and audio-Bibles reached us before Christmas. They went to villages on the Russian border, which are under attack daily with many losses. Many people are left, and a living church is still there. When Pastor Roman went there they had baptisms!
They were so glad about the Tumi tigers and audio-Bibles! The children were not allowed to be at the service, because of security, but they got the Tumis at Christmas."
Again, he writes: "Hi! Today I got the English Tumi and also for your card, words and Psalm 52! Thank you so much! Tomorrow I will bring Tumi to my friend, but today I showed him to an elderly traumatised woman and her interaction with Tumi was so amazing!"
Everywhere Tumi does a great job - bringing a smile, hope and Jesus himself!
Correspondence from Melody, a worker with our GRN South Africa team:
We received requests from social workers in private practice to buy a few tigers after they learned about it from another social worker who uses Tumi in an orphanage. They are impressed with the benefits of Tumi and would like to use it in their practice as well as with their own young children. It was especially encouraging to receive feedback and know that tigers that were placed more than five years ago are still in use and that the we continue to have contact with the therapists.
A facility for children living with mental and physical disability is especially pleased with Tumi as he assists with anger management in the traumatised. And the children living with physically disability have something to hold onto for the very first time. The psychologist reports that a boy with intense anger issues, due to serious trauma, has improved to such an extent that verbal communication is possible and that he attends a small home-schooling group.
