In a group of elderly people where traditional beliefs are deeply rooted, a woman we now call "Grande Maman" shared a story of a radical change in her life.
Formerly a voodoo fetishist, a prosperous trader, and homeowner, she had long remained silent in the face of biblical messages delivered in her native language (Ewe). It was only after five years of listening that she decided to give her life to Christ and join a church.
Last month, during a meeting with other elderly people, she spoke confidently to share her experience. Before her peers, she explained how Christ had freed and transformed her. Her testimony was a true source of encouragement for those who were still hesitant to take this step of faith. This story proves that the Gospel can touch hearts at any age and that God's work among the elderly is a source of hope and blessing. Her testimony also encourages us to persevere in sowing the Word because it took her five years before she decided to accept Jesus as her Savior.
